Hunter Gather: “FRESH” Exhibit

One of our favorite aspects of Houston is that you can always find something unexpected in your back yard. Most recently, we were turned onto Hunter Gather—a relatively new alternative art space only minutes away from our workshop. Having only opened in September of 2013, the gallery has already garnered a reputation for exhibiting a diverse range of innovative works by a continual variety of featured artists from around the country.

If you haven’t already, tomorrow is the perfect time to visit Hunter Gather as their upcoming show (“Fresh”) is an inaugural part of this year’s summer-long Print Houston celebration, which organizes shows and events in galleries around the city.

Launching with an opening reception tomorrow night at 6:00P,  “Fresh” investigates how contemporary artists are pushing the limits of traditional printmaking. The exhibit includes kinetic, experimental and even sculptural works by six artists who re-imagine the possibilities of what printmaking can entail.

There will be an opening reception for “Fresh” on Friday, May 29th from 6-8P, plus a gallery talk with the artists on Friday, June 5th (also from 6-8P). The exhibit will be up from May 29th-July 25th. For more information on their hours, location and exhibits, visit the Hunter Gather website.
